Let me give you a bit of background about me, and how I come to be writing a post about why you should buy an iphone. More accurately, I suppose it’s about why I bought an iphone.
I’m a 47 year old business woman who doesn’t really do technology and gadgets and I fit the cliche of can’t programme the DVD player. I’ve had mobile phones for years and they are just gadgets to make phone calls and I’m rather talented at texting. But that’s it. A couple of years ago I bought a fancy phone, did everything, took notes, recorded my voice and had the alerts and reminders I thought I needed to keep me on track.
So how come 18 months later I still had 15 notebooks to carry around with me on top of calenders and organisers and the other whatnots of daily business life? Couldn’t understand how to use it.
I’d looked at the iphone before I’d decided to get this stick in the mud business looking phone I ended up with and thought it looked rather for the kids. The screen looked like it might break and the icons moving around could easily slow down or stop and them there I would be frantically stroking my phone in a meeting. But you know how it is when you’ve seen something and got tuned into it – you start noticing it all over the place. And that’s what happened to me. Pretty soon iphones started creeping into my horizon as I spotted that many of my colleagues and clients amoxil had plumped for the iphone. These were serious people mind, not hoodies or teenagers just texting their mates and downloading music all day. Playing with their ringtones if you will.
Gradually I decided to have a proper look and after that it was a downhill slide and I just had to have one. So what’s happened since I bought it to prompt me to write this post…
1. Everything is in one place. My iphone has replaced the mountain of notebooks and jotters I used to take along for the ride wherever I went.
2. The whole business of phoning an texting got so much easier. The iphone is intuitive and I’ve never had to look at a manual.
3. I save about 2 hours a day reviewing my emails because now they are all downloaded and waiting for me without me logging in and out of numerous accounts.
4. I get stuff done in snippets of time such as in the car, ot waiting in a queue.
5. I always have something to read.
6. Games can be a fantastic 2 minute distraction to get a bit of left brain action going.
I could go on by why bother. It’s changed my life. I arrive on time and with everything I need. I’ve heard some people complain that the apple iphone restricts who you can connect to and download tunes from – just apple I gather. ‘Apple is taking over the world,’ they moan. Great, bring it on.
